Alfons Mucha

Puede que algunos no conozcáis su nombre, pero estamos seguros de que habéis visto sus obras en más de una ocasión. Hablamos de Alfons Mucha, artista de origen checo que se convirtió en referente del Art Noveau de principios del siglo XX.

Dejó su impronta en disciplinas tales como la pintura, la ilustración, la joyería e incluso las artes decorativas. Su estilo, con un trazo claramente reconocible, giraba en torno a la figura femenina y los elementos florales. No tardó en hacerse popular y a la larga frecuentemente imitado, si bien Mucha siempre trató de innovar e ir más allá en su trabajo. Muchos reconoceréis su influencia en las artes gráficas y publicidad de la primera mitad del siglo pasado.

Aquí compartimos algunas de las obras que más nos gustan.

Some of you may not know his name, but we're sure you've seen his works in more than one occasion. We're talking about Alfons Mucha, a Czech artist that became one of the Art Noveau references at the begining of the 20th Century.

He left a mark in a wide range of disciplines such as painting, illustrations, jewelry and even decorative arts. His style, we a clearly recognizable stroke, spins aroung woman figure and floral elements. Soon he became very popular and eventually was frequently imitated, however Mucha was always trying to innovate and make a step beyond in his works. Many of you will recognize his influence in graphics arts and advertisement dated on the first half of last century.
